our basic premise is that breakdowns will happen.

the crane at the steel plate factory i'm in charge of was built in the 1970s. because so many years have passed, i assume that a catastrophic failure could occur, so i'm ready to respond quickly. rather than responding to what has already happened, the idea is that, by assuming that failure will happen, we can improve the quality of production.

a gathering of top professionals, with skills honed at high-level worksites.

when i first started doing maintenance work, i couldn't read the electrical diagrams at all, so i started from scratch and had them go over what kind of electrical system was used in each crane—i really studied a lot! the people here have true professional abilities, so it's a very high-level workplace. if trouble does happen, it can affect shipping, so if we inspect the equipment ahead of time and fix any problems, we can proactively prevent trouble from happening. every day i write down everything that happened in a notebook, then continue to go over and rethink what i found.

improving the quality of work tomorrow, one step at a time.

thanks to this process, the customer has praised us for reducing the number of catastrophic failures that have happened. when the work i've done previously pays off, there's a feeling of fulfillment, and it makes me want to further improve my work tomorrow. and by doing that, i feel that we are making a real contribution to our customer.
