- icd: inland container depot. a special facility authorized by the indian government. all maritime container cargo that has used rail transport must pass through the icd. here we carry out cargo delivery as well as various other operations such as import/export customs clearance, container storage, and loading/unloading.
- cto: container train operators who use trains to conduct cargo transportation at each of the icds scattered around major ports and inland areas. this is a relatively new business opened to the private sector in 2006, and there are many cases of icd operators also launching their own cto business.
